Unwind & Eat on the Silver Comet Trail
Following the corridor of an upscale passenger railway that ran through Georgia in the mid 1900s, the Silver Comet Trail is now paved and is perfect for those who love to spend time outdoors. The 61.5 mile trail begins at the Mavell Road Trailhead just eight minutes from Albright in Smyrna and ends at the Georgia-Alabama state line, making it one of the longest and most scenic in the state. Run, walk, cycle or rollerblade through miles of lush greenery, rural countrysides and historic downtowns.
Let the adventure continue: Don’t forget to explore the equally popular Chattahoochee River Trail, which also runs through the Vinings area. And for when you’ve worked up an appetite, there are plenty of excellent coffee shops, ice cream parlors and restaurants located near the trail, including Canoe, which is one of the country’s most acclaimed restaurants and is conveniently located along the banks of the Chattahoochee River.
