The fall season is finally here, and there are a number of ways you can get outside and enjoy all that Charlotte has to offer. Aside from visiting a pumpkin patch or apple picking, you can spend the day at a winery, enjoying the scenic views of the vineyards and sipping on different types of wines with your family and friends. Read on to discover our top six wineries to visit this fall season near Charlotte.

Treehouse Vineyards

Treehouse Vineyards is a unique vineyard that allows you to sip on wine with a bird’s-eye view. Turn your visit into a getaway by booking one of the treehouses for an overnight stay, or simply spend the day overlooking the vineyard while enjoying a glass of Treehouse wine. Located in Monroe, this vineyard is just minutes away from Empire Oldenburg.

Rocky River Vineyards

Nestled on 45 acres of rolling hills, family-owned Rocky River Vineyards is located just under 20 minutes from Empire Summerwood, and boasts peaceful, scenic views alongside their award-winning wine. Keep an eye out for wild turkeys and deer along the property’s walking trail, or while enjoying a picnic on the grounds.

Veronét Vineyards & Winery

Veronét Vineyards & Winery welcomes you with a beautiful view of pine trees and a long winding road. Enjoy a day of delicious wine tasting with a panoramic view of their vineyard, located about 30 minutes from Charlotte. Bonus: Veronét takes a sustainable approach to their vineyard by limiting the use of herbicides and pesticides, and opting for environmentally-friendly harvesting practices instead.

Childress Vineyards

NASCAR team owner Richard Childress fulfilled a longtime dream of opening his own vineyard right here in North Carolina. Experience the 15 varieties of European Vitis vinifera and a scenic view of over 70 acres of vineyards that make up Childress Vineyards. Enjoy one of the daily tours and tastings that are offered, and grab a bite to eat at the on-site bistro. This well-known vineyard is located under an hour away from Empire West End Towns.

Raffaldini Vineyards

Raffaldini Vineyards brings Tuscan charm to North Carolina as it’s nestled in the rolling foothills of the Swan Creek Wine Appellation. If you’re in the mood for classically dry Italian-style wines and sparkling Prosecco, then this is the perfect vineyard for you. Located a little over an hour away from Empire West End Towns, this beautiful vineyard makes the trip worthwhile.

Piccione Vineyards

If you’re interested in a day of wine hopping, then you’re in luck. Located right beside Raffaldini Vineyards is Piccione Vineyards. Sharing the same scenic view, this vineyard offers a beautiful covered deck, making it the ideal spot to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting and a beautiful view. They currently offer tastings by flight, bottle, and glass.
