If you’re a frequent traveller between Niagara Falls and Toronto, you’ve no doubt noticed the lack of transportation connecting the two — but that’s about to change. The GO originally ran between Union Station and Burlington, and from there you could take a bus to get to the Niagara region. Seems like a challenging commute, especially as Niagara continues to grow and more people are moving to this wonderful pocket of Ontario.
Thankfully, GO Transit took note and has brought their regular GO train service to the area with new stops for both Niagara Falls and St. Catharines this year. Commuters will now be able to take the Lake Shore West train between Niagara Falls/St. Catharines and Toronto from Monday to Friday.
- The existing weekday 6:39 a.m. eastbound trip from West Harbour GO will now begin at Niagara Falls at 5:19 a.m., stop at St. Catharines at 5:41 a.m. and continue on to West Harbour, making all stops to Clarkson then running express to Union Station as usual and at the current times.
- The existing weekday 5:15 p.m. westbound trip from Union to West Harbour will be extended to make a stop at St. Catharines at 7:22 p.m., and arrive at Niagara Falls at 7:47 p.m.
Want to hear even better news? The Niagara Falls GO Station is a mere 15-minute drive from our Empire Imagine site, while the St. Catharines GO Station is 21 minutes away. Both stations are close enough to make commuting throughout Ontario much easier on a day-to-day basis for our homeowners in the area. Get your Presto cards ready!
