We love getting involved in the communities we build in and can think of no better event to celebrate with our homeowners than Canada 150. The growth of Southwestern Ontario in the last decade makes it a fitting place to celebrate this milestone. It helps us remember how much we’ve grown and get excited for what we are still striving to achieve. Join us at one of the many Canada Day events taking place this long weekend and beyond as we take part in an epic birthday party that refuses to end.
The City of Brantford, home to our Wyndfield community, is taking their annual Canada Day celebration to a whole other level with a yearlong program, ending on New Year’s Eve in Harmony Square. Join us on July 1st for the Canada Day celebration, featuring all the great activities the community has come to expect, including kid’s entertainment, a Canadian headliner performance, the 6th Annual Great Canadian Trail Run and a fireworks display to cap it all off. To keep the fun going, from September to December join Brantford residents for various events, including the International Jazz Festival in honour of Canada’s milestone year.
Celebrate the Caledonia way on Canada Day with a parade, rides, live entertainment, fireworks and fun at the Caledonia Fairgrounds, just 3 km from our Avalon community. Plenty to do for all, including all day rides on the Fairgrounds Train with a single donation of your choice and several events happening throughout the day for kids and parents alike, including competitions and draws, a car show, live music and stunts.
With our upcoming entry into Thorold with Empire Legacy, we are especially excited to sponsor and be part of the Port Robinson Living Flag Event on July 9th at Club Castropignano in Thorold. Taking place the weekend after Canada Day for those who don’t want the fun to end, join more than 300 red-and-white clad locals coming together to create the iconic Maple Leaf in a manner befitting a 150th birthday. Enjoy a picnic with radio station Country89, Precise Sound DJs and the City of Thorold as well as various events and entertainment like a spaghetti eating contest, bocce ball tournament, magician, puppets, games for the kids and rides on the Port Robinson Ferry which will be running all day long.
We hope to see you out and about this long weekend celebrating Canada’s milestone birthday and wish everyone a safe and happy Canada 150.
