For a record-setting 29th time, the 2017 RBC Canadian Open will be hosted at Oakville’s Glen Abbey Golf Club, just a short drive from our Rain & Senses community. The Canadian Championship has been held for over 100 years, and is part of the famed “Triple Crown” of golf which involves winning the three oldest PGA Tour events in the same year, the U.S. Open, the Open Championship, and the RBC Canadian Open. Only two golfers have achieved this historic accomplishment in a single season; Lee Trevino (1971) and Tiger Woods (2000).
Over its history, the Canadian Open has raised over $50 million for various charitable causes, and Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada is the official charity of the RBC Open this year. Even if you can’t attend the tour, you can still show your support for the cause by donating, here.
Round 1 begins Thursday July 27 and culminates with Round 4 on Sunday July 30, but before the pros tee off, there is plenty more golf to watch. Here are some of the events we think you should check out during this year’s RBC Canadian Open.
